Joan Travis writes: We run because we are so inspired by Jeff Galloway! His running method has enable us to run half marathons and full marathons. Two people in this group have run 7 marathons using the Galloway method and the others have run half marathons using the run/walk system. Thanks to Jeff we all are developing healthy habits and making treasure memories!
Although Ben Bryant played sports throughout high school, and even played intercollegiate football, he was never really a big fan of running and conditioning. That all changed in November of 2013, when Ben and his wife were fortunate enough to participate in the runDisney meet-up held here in Atlanta, which was organized by Jeff Galloway. They are huge Disney fans, and had always joked that it would take Disney to get Ben into running. Well, thanks to Jeff convincing the folks at runDisney to hold a meet-up outside of the Disney Parks for the first time, and to hold it in Jeff’s (and Ben’s) hometown, Disney did in fact become the catalyst to launch his interest in running and set Ben on a course to enjoy running (and runDisney) for as long as he is able to lace up his shoes and get out on the road.
Since the runDisney meet-up, Ben has completed three half marathons (with his fourth coming up in this month), including Disney’s Wine & Dine Half Marathon (2014), the Publix Georgia Half (2015), and the JG 13.1 (2015), along with numerous other local races shorter distance races. Ben and his wife also traveled down to Walt Disney World last spring to run in the final Expedition Everest Challenge. Ben hopes to be able to train for and complete his first full marathon sometime in the next year, and has his sights set on the runDisney Dopey Challenge. Who would have thought a little over two years ago that not only would Ben be running on his lunch break, but that he’d actually enjoy it – thanks to the Galloway method!
